2 Part Lecture at the Sydney Fair

Intaglio French Memento Mori Ring

On Saturday and Sunday, the 15th and 16th of May, 2021 at the Randwick Racecourse, Art of Mourning will be hosting a lecture on the history of memento mori.

Mortality and jewellery are linked, from Medieval piety to modern values in social status and wealth. The designs of death and how they represented identity in jewellery offer an insight into family values and social/personal status. Religion, politics, profit and loss are the topics of this investigation into memento mori and the image of death in jewellery.

Join Hayden for this 2 part lecture series spanning 2 days at the Sydney Antique Fair.

This one time only event will be live with a Q&A session afterwards.
